April 14-16, 2015 in Moscow at the National University of Oil and Gas «Gubkin University» held the 69th International Youth Scientific Conference «Oil and Gas - 2015», timed to coincide with the 85th anniversary of the Russian State University of Oil and Gas named after I.M. Gubkin and the 70th anniversary of the Student Scientific Association.

Being one of the largest youth forums in the field of oil and gas education, the conference annually becomes an effective platform for strengthening scientific and business cooperation between Russian and foreign specialists in order to implement promising projects in the field of training young personnel. Today, the oil and gas industry around the world is in dire need of new technologies for the development of Arctic hydrocarbon deposits and increasing the efficiency of deposits with unconventional reserves, at a late stage of development, and commissioning new fields. Difficulties in the development of hydrocarbon raw materials in the Arctic region require the development of competitive domestic technical solutions and modern scientific approaches to solve the assigned tasks. Experts' forecasts show that the production of hydrocarbons in the Arctic is a strategic direction for the development of the oil and gas industry in the long term, and the solution of related problems and tasks will have to be faced by the future generation of specialists and scientists.

In the anniversary year for the university, more than 1300 reports in twelve sections were announced at the conference. In addition to representatives from the National University of Oil and Gas «Gubkin University» students and postgraduates from other universities in Russia took part in the conference: Tyumen, Ufa, Ukhta, Almetyevsk, Samara, Volgograd, Tomsk, Kazan, Perm, Krasnodar, St. Petersburg, Irkutsk, Astrakhan, Krasnoyarsk, Belgorod, Moscow, etc., foreign universities and organizations: Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan; young specialists from oil and gas companies of Russia: OJSC NK LUKOIL, OJSC Rosneft, OJSC Gazprom, OJSC RITEK, OJSC Tatneft named after V.D. Shashina, JSC ANK Bashneft, Schlumberger and others, as well as schoolchildren from Moscow, the Moscow region and other regions of Russia.

The conference was opened by the rector of the National University of Oil and Gas «Gubkin University», professor Martynov V.G. Viktor Georgievich emphasized the importance and relevance of such scientific events for young specialists, scientists and students. Further on the program with a report on behalf of the President of the Russian State University of Oil and Gas named after I.M. Gubkin, professor Vladimirov A.I. Vice-Rector for Research, Professor A.V. Muradov spoke on the topic «Gubkin University - a forge of personnel for the development of oil and gas industries». The presentation was dedicated to the history of the university: the development of scientific and educational activities for 85 years, outstanding scientists-graduates of Gubkin University and the most significant tasks of the university in the future. Further, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences A.E. Kontorovich made a report on the state, problems and tasks of science and higher education of the oil and gas complex of Russia in the XXI century. The plenary session continued with a speech by the head of the Department of Geology of the Russian State University of Oil and Gas named after I.M. Gubkin, Professor V.P. Gavrilova, who in his report highlighted the strategy for the development of the hydrocarbon potential of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation until 2050 and beyond. Continuing the topic, the issues of international cooperation in the Arctic were considered by the representative of the Oxford International Center, Bayasanova D.M. The Plenary Session ended with a speech by PG Tsybulsky, General Director of Gazprom VNIIGAZ LLC, who in his report noted the main ways of developing cooperation between Gazprom VNIIGAZ LLC and the Gubkin University in the field of research and training for the fuel and energy complex.

10. Legal support for the development of the oil and gas industry;

11. Presentation of scientific reports in English;

12. School Scientific Society.

The members of the expert commission noted the high level of the youth research work.

As part of the conference, introductory lectures were organized for everyone at the Field Development Management Center and the University's unique drilling simulator center.

The winners and laureates received gifts and souvenirs with the symbols of the Gubkin University, general sponsor of the conference by Schlumberger and sponsor of RITEK. In turn, Halliburton International Inc. noted the project of one of the conference participants with a special cash grant for the best research work in the field of mechanical engineering in the oil and gas complex. A student of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the National University of Oil and Gas «Gubkin University» Shmonova K.S. Dow Corning additionally recognized the best performance in the Chemical Engineering and Environmental Section in the Oil and Gas Industry.

The general information partner of the conference, the Nedra Publishing House, presented the winners who took the first places with annual subscriptions to the magazine. The winners also received gifts and subscriptions from the Kommersant Publishing House.
