April 14-16, 2015 in Moscow at the National University of Oil and Gas «Gubkin University» held the 69th International Youth Scientific Conference «Oil and Gas - 2015», timed to coincide with the 85th anniversary of the Russian State University of Oil and Gas named after I.M. Gubkin and the 70th anniversary of the Student Scientific Association.
Being one of the largest youth forums in the field of oil and gas education, the conference annually becomes an effective platform for strengthening scientific and business cooperation between Russian and foreign specialists in order to implement promising projects in the field of training young personnel. Today, the oil and gas industry around the world is in dire need of new technologies for the development of Arctic hydrocarbon deposits and increasing the efficiency of deposits with unconventional reserves, at a late stage of development, and commissioning new fields. Difficulties in the development of hydrocarbon raw materials in the Arctic region require the development of competitive domestic technical solutions and modern scientific approaches to solve the assigned tasks. Experts' forecasts show that the production of hydrocarbons in the Arctic is a strategic direction for the development of the oil and gas industry in the long term, and the solution of related problems and tasks will have to be faced by the future generation of specialists and scientists.
In the anniversary year for the university, more than 1300 reports in twelve sections were announced at the conference.
