1500 participants from 200 organizations of the oil and gas industry, «Oil Owl» and the cup of the best student association were not raffled off - the results of the International Youth Conference «Oil and Gas - 2020».
In accordance with the order of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 1960 dated September 17, 2018, the 74th International Youth Scientific Conference «Oil and Gas - 2020» was scheduled for April 20-24, 2020. However, due to the current epidemiological situation with the new coronavirus infection COVID-19, the event was first postponed to September 28 - October 02, 2020, and then, due to the worsening situation, it was decided to hold Oil and Gas 2020 exclusively in absentia with the subsequent publication of the proceedings of the conference.
In 2020, more than 1500 scientific papers in 27 areas from students, young scientists, specialists, schoolchildren from more than 200 educational institutions and industry organizations in Russia and foreign countries were submitted to participate in the conference. As a result of the absentee meeting of the expert commission, 764 scientific papers were recommended for publication in the collection of abstracts, and 67 scientific articles were recommended for the collection of works. Lists of selected works are published on the website, while the organizing committee does not provide additional (detailed) comments on the reasons for rejection of certain materials. Collections of works within a week after publication will be placed in the electronic library elibrary (RSCI).
Given the current situation and the lack of the possibility of full-time holding of events in 2020, it was decided not to hold the traditional tournaments «Oil Owl» and «Competition for the best student association of the oil and gas industry», thus the winning teams in 2019 remain in the status of champions, and the new owners of two challenging prizes will be determined during the competition in 2021. The organizing committee hopes that all events planned for next year will be held in the traditional face-to-face format. Follow the updates on the conference website!
